The Temple itself is pretty usual for a Wat in Bangkok. There is quite a big courtyard with the main building containing a Golden Buddha statue (all pretty standard) with three other small buildings to check out. There are several smaller golden Buddhas around the edge of the courtyard which are always interesting to take a look.
The main attraction is the Golden Mount out back. It has a spiral staircase, which can be seen from a distance, leading up to an impressive temple at the top of the hill. This place is definitely worth a look and is one of Bangkok's top five temples for tourists.
This temple is easily accessible from Democracy Monument (few minutes walk), or Khao San Road and it can be reached from Chinatown, if you fancy a stroll from Hua Lamphong to Rattanakosin, which takes about 30 minutes.
